We are a group of Barnet residents who were so outraged at Barnet Council’s huge increase in the cost of Residents Parking Permits and Visitor’s Vouchers that we have decided to take legal action.

David Attfield, a Barnet resident and a solicitor himself, brought a judicial review action in the High Court on behalf of Barnet's CPZ residents...and won! Barnet's increases were found to amount to unlawful revenue raising and the Council was ordered by the Court to reinstate the old charges and pay the legal costs of the case.

That was in July 2013. Since then, Barnet has not tried to impose any increases on CPZ residents but unfortunately the payment of the legal costs is still to be resolved.
